Abstract:
A series of novel
4-phenyl-5-hepta-O-benzoyl-β-D-maltosylimino-3-arylimino-1,2,4-dithiazolidines
(hydrochloride) were prepared by the interaction of N-hepta-O-benzoyl-β-D-maltosyl-S-chloro
isothiocarbamoyl chloride with various 1-aryl-3-phenyl
thiocarbamides. Elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and
mass spectral studies evidenced the structure of the newly
synthesized compounds. Synthesized 1,2,4-dithiazolidines
investigated for their antimicrobial activities against Proteus
vulgaries, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium,
Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Aspergilus
niger.
Keywords: Isothiocarbamoyl chloride, 1-aryl-3-phenyl
thiocarbamides, 1,2,4- dithiazolidines (hydrochloride),
antimicrobial activity.
