Abstract:  We have applied a quick and convenient method for determining Folic acid excreted in mint vegetable. Sample-treatment entails SPE with Sep-Pak C18 (0.9 g) cartridge. The folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin which was analyzed by HPLC on a Discovery C-18 150mm×4.6mm column with 0.1 mol.L-1 KH2PO4 (pH 7.0) – methanol, 90:10, as mobile phase (0.7 mL.min-1) in isocratic mode. The influence of various analytical parameters including the pH, sorbent amount, elution factors (concentration and volume of eluting solution), concentration and volume of sample solution on the extraction efficiency of analytes ware investigated.

Key words: Solid phase extraction (SPE), Mint analysis, High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Folic acid
