Abstract:
A series of coordination polymers of the general formula [M(BDC)(Azoles)(H2O)].xH2O,
Azoles=2-aminobenzothiazole (ABZ), 2-amino-thiazole (AZ),
2-amino-4-methylthiazole (AMTZ), M = Zn(ІІ) and Cd(ІІ) and H2BDC
= 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate and has been prepared and
characterized. The complexes are air stable, insoluble in common
organic solvents but partially soluble in dimethylformamide (DMF)
and dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO). The structure of the complexes
has been assigned based on elemental analysis, electronic
spectral studies, IR, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction,
Scanning electron microscope and Biological activity.
Thermogravimetry (TG), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) and
differential thermal analysis (DTA) have been used to study the
thermal decomposition of the complexes. The kinetic parameters
have been calculated making use of the Coats-Redfern and
Horowitz-Metzger equations.
