Abstract: A new class of forty-eighth Benzothiazolyl quinazolinone 1-48 were prepared from 2-[2-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)amino]phenylmethyl-3,1-substitutedbenzoxazine-4(H)one IIIa,b on nucleophilic reaction with different amine. The structures of isolated compounds have been investigated on the basis of elemental analysis, IR and 1H-NMR spectra. The synthesized compounds were screened for antibacterial and antifungal activity. Some of the compounds showed good antibacterial as well as antifungal activity.

KEY WORDS: Quinazolinone, benzothiazole, antibacterial, antifungal.
