Abstract: By esterification of corresponding acids and alcohols, polyolester (P12) and dioctyladipate (DOA), were syntheized. The synthesis was confirmed through the comparison of physical properties of obtained adducts, with those of reported values. Following this step, three blends of P12 and DOA were prepared, and their important physical properties were evaluated. Due to desirable physical properties, of a P12: DOA mixture, with 32:68 weight ratio, it was assigned as the best one and named as Synester F4. This new group (V) esteric base oil was employed successfully for production of two motor oils with standard 15W40CH4.
